Week7- A Tale of Two

After seeing everyone’s portraits today, my mind has been exposed to some amazing talent and I am inspired and intrigued to dabble into the minds of my fellow students. Technique and skill were highlighted today and I am in awe of the paths people took to represent loved ones, peers and even George from the antique shed.

Delivering feedback amongst small groups was very beneficial, not only did we gain constructive criticism but also a range of compliments that can help us define our own personal strengths and weaknesses.

I was told I had a great range of found footage that I used consistently throughout my piece; the flow was effective and translated well with people in my group. I was complimented on the crisp colours of specific footage but was also advised that next time I could try swap the ratio of found footage and personal.

Everyone did incredibly well and I would love to say something about each piece however I will just touch on what I liked about Graces

I thought that although she had to find a new subject she did really well executing Georges story. With a simple take on found footage I found that the most important pieces of the tale were highlighted and it became very effective to have a moment of black and white as he spoke about his past. With little to fault we discussed with Robbie that maybe next time, however, she could take on board positioning her subject to the right of the frame in order to suggest he is looking at her and not off screen.
