This first Investigation is an experiment using the material I have gathered so far edited using Premiere Pro; location & subject footage, originally composed piano (by the Subject Penelope Irvine) and a voice recording. Using original music composted by Penelope herself, I have layered this audio with the recording of the poem “Prayer for my Daughter” (William B. Yeats, 1919) to create a moment indicative and expressive of something about Penelope’s character. A Portrait of Penelope was my objective when starting out this semester and while some clips more than others express Penelope specifically, they are also a reflection of my first experience making a series of short films.
