I’ve decided to spend the next half of the studio working with a young woman called Penelope, a writer, a pianist a creative.

Using collaborative writing and voice recordings, piano playing and footage of her hopefully we can create an evocative piece that reflects something beautiful about her.

From the first piece of writing I did on the violin, I’ve decided to develop that but use a different subject and instrument. Because I want to be behind the camera exploring how a subject comes to life on screen I don’t want to use myself.

As I get to know Penelope better, my hope is that together we discover ways to explore her character most effectively using the camera. We will be exploring different locations, activities and emotional states and experiences as part of this character exploration.
