I believe technologies themselves are neutral. I shared much banter with fellow class mate Felicia over this subject, in which she asserted, in vain, that to be ‘neutral’ is indeed a choice and is therefore a paradox. I disagree, I see her point but I disagree, in regards to technology anyway (Switzerland is another matter). Technology is created by us, the user. It is programmed by us, fulfills our needs, and obeys our requests. It may store information, causing it to make decisions for us, based on previous preferences or original programming, but it in no way thinks for itself. It is therefore neutral, until picked up and used.
