Part three – a1 MSSm

How will your own work in this studio be informed by your understandings of social media, the data from the Sensis surveys and your examples of social media mentioned above? What information do you hope to gather from the Sensis data?

Having quite an avid understanding of the workings of social media, especially Instagram, I think that my work in this studio will be able to dive deeper into the use of social media rather than focussing on data that I feel is obvious to the average social media user such as, ‘these are the times when Instagram is used the most’, ‘targeted ads are successful’ etc.

I think my own work in the studio will definitely be informed and influenced by @patiasfantasyworld as my group will be taking a similar approach to what is taken on this account, making a serious issue into something that is more fun and in turn, relatable to our target audiences; this is something that, from my own understandings, our generation gravitates toward.

Some of the Sensis data will definitely be of use when approaching our work in this studio in terms of what our target audience gravitates towards, when they are using the platform and what kind of media circulates the quickest and most on Instagram.

The Sensis data I want to gain relates to the objectives of our project: what form of media has the most engagement, what times are our audiences most likely to interact with media that is similar to ours. It would also be interesting to see the data on what types of post are engaged with the most successfully, whether that be a feed post, story, reel or IGTV.
