Today we filmed the Teen Comedy, Fairy Tale and Horror scenes in the Hallway of Building 9. The day was plagued with issues that were promptly dealt with the biggest being the actor playing Ted didn’t show up, answer any of our calls or texts. So Darcy stepped up and played Ted.
We had some issues getting access to building 9 during the weekend, however Paul came to the rescue and we ended up providing the details for the doors that we needed open and security obliged and programmed the doors so they would remain open during filming. This was a massive help and the production would have been hindered as only a few of the few had working cards.
On the day there were a few script changes, one of the teen comedy scenes was very long and we were running out of time so we ended up condensing the scene and it worked perfectly.
The lessons learnt would be to have backup options just in case actors don’t turn up, and to double and triple check with the the availability. This might have been extra difficult because we decided to shoot on grand final day, which meant that some people might not be available. If we had more time to prepare we would have done shot lists and rehearsals with actors.
As a team we all worked well together. Trent and Darcy helped with the gear and Darcy organised lunch. We all pitched in $15 for the food and ensured that no one went hungry. One issue though was the lack of a fridge, however we managed to get by unscathed.
