SHARING PROJECT BRIEF THREE

In this weeks tutorial we presented Project Brief Three. We did it a little differently this time – more a ‘film festival’ vibe according to Brian. This time we went from the bottom on the roll up. B, good towards the end. I had issues exporting my video, for some reason my computer did not like it. So I uploaded it to google drive and did not have to wait too long until it was my turn. It’s a little daunting presenting something light in that an audiences reaction will validate decisions I have made in the process of making my film. I think I went pretty safe with both of the two previous project briefs and this one was well outside my comfort zone. I find it easier to judge an audiences reaction when I attempt something simpler and literal. Abstract work requires individual perception so it can be harder to known how the film was received. This was either entertaining, or it wasn’t. And I think it was (maybe). People laughed at the parts I thought were funny, which is always a good sign. We then went into group based reflections and were reintroduced to the classic red, yellow, green and black hats. The feedback I received was positive and it seemed to be entertaining as I desired. Someone commented on the one question approach, noting the single work answer gave them the perfect view of my subject. I think generally, black hatting myself, I could have refined the project as a whole, dealt with timing issues and export changes better. But again the sharing process was a good one, one more step towards perhaps enjoyment of sharing my work… or at least toleration.
