This is my first reflection on authoring and publishing videos on Instagram of the Platform Video studio. This video is taking time out during my WIL work to film, This content of the video connects with the conceptual outline in relation to the way I using the camera to find space and time for contemplation during Covid-19. Because of China is the low risk during the Covid-19 pandemic for right now, therefore I can go out to work and film, but we still need to worn face mask when we got out.
How did you author the video you recorded for upload to Instagram?
I did spend some time to record this video with an iPhone Xs Max on the rear-facing camera, as you can see the final video is made by few videos. I did move my body to get closer to the model being recorded and in order to ensure the stability of the lens, I also used the stabilizer, from another way is to move the camera view more easily and conveniently for me. The filming time of the video is near the sunset, so I did like the light and the way it was highlighting, the important is it makes the sense of the beauty of the video.
For the editing, I did not transfer the video shot onto the laptop and is using an app called clapping to do it on my phone. This editing app is very popular in China, because it not only has convenient but also professional, like the video I made, all the filter, video speed, music, transition and effects is from this editing app. Because the model of the video is wearing Chinese traditional clothing, therefore, I am choosing traditional light music, and this music is the free sound license on this app.
How did you publish the video you recorded for upload to Instagram?
For publishing, I didn’t take the attention of the format size and the editing app also not mention that, so I just exported from clapping compressed version (1080p), then I use my phone for upload to Instagram. For the cover page, I didn’t see the button setting, therefore I am not making. As this is my first task in the platform video studio, I did upload with geotags, mention in Nanning, Guangxi, China.
Actually, I didn’t use Instagram usually and I still have more questions about this application, so I configure my video to play automatically, because I can’t find the button to turn it off. For the next week, I will try to study hard of the Instagram app.
