Is this a puzzle? lol #doors #whitedoors #cabinet

These past few weeks I only went to RMIT and my friend’s house to do our short film, the film really consumed all of my time, therefore, I really did not have a chance to take some photos of other doors. I felt a bit regret since I remember that there are so many interesting door around Collins street.

  1. How did you author (the photo or video) you recorded for upload to Instagram?

This photo was authored by my Iphone 7+, with a back camera, when I was at my friend’s house.

The doors are plain white, and there are little handles attached to each door. I have been in love and hate relationship with these puzzle doors for quite some time since I first saw them. I was so shocked when I knew that behind these doors were fridge, microwave, and cabinets. They were fascinating in terms of its design, however, the design of this object also caused me a confusion.

Due to an in-app camera square format, I was unable to capture all these doors into the frame. Therefore, I tried to capture the right angle and composition only for the left side of the doors. I adjusted its angle a bit to balance the composition before uploading. Moreover, I also applied ‘Moon’ filter to this photo to make it look like black & white photo, but I changed its opacity to 55% so the original colour still remained in the photo, just for my aesthetically appeasing.

2. How did you publish (the photo or video) you recorded for upload to Instagram?

To publish this photo, I took a few attempts before getting the most appeasing one. The reasons behind my selection of this photo were its angle and composition, and the straight lines in vertical and horizontal. I added a short caption ‘Is this a puzzle? lol’ because it literally was puzzle for me. Moreover, I also added hashtags #doors #whitedoors and #cabinet. Besides, geo-tagging function was not used in this photo since it was in private property—my friend’s house.

3. How did you distribute (the photo or video) you published on Instagram to other social media services?

To distribute this photo, I continued sharing it to my Twitter and Tumblr. For this post, I tried searching for a way to share an Instagram photo on Twitter with an actual photo, not a link, I found that there was literally a way to do it but I needed to download another apps. Therefore, I just chose to share directly from Instagram as I did in previous post since I did not want to use another app. I thought it was better to immediately and directly share it from Instagram only, I also considered it as one of constraints too.
