Fair Dealing

  • Research and Study- can use a reasonable portion of copyrighted work without seeking licences.
  • Using copyrighted works for assignments doesn’t apply to public screenings or distribution
  • Criticism or review covered under provision eg. Stills of movie, dvd cover
  • Parody and satire

Music

  • RMIT has a license to cover us when using commercial music
  • Not covered for public blog
  • Have to have a license to cover a song
