1. How did you author (the photo or video) you recorded for upload to Instagram?
I took this video on my iPhone using the camera, and then uploaded it to Instagram by selecting it from my gallery. Originally the video was a longer frame than the square I had been using for my other image and video posts, so I decided to crop it to fit the Instagram square. I cropped the video as originally it was a lot longer and some of the start was irrelevant to doors using the Instagram app.

I didn’t use any other editing. I also decided to keep the sound recording in this post, as I liked the sound of footsteps as I recorded it walking past, fitting with my theme.

2. How did you publish (the photo or video) you recorded for upload to
Instagram?
I published this video through Instagram without making many changes, apart from making the frame square and cropping some of the start out of the video. I did not use any filters or other edits and I felt it fit with my theme as it was.

I also chose to include the sound and not edit it out using the Instagram edits that allow you to remove sound. I find that uploading video to Instagram isn’t as visually appealing and thematic as the images that I feel Instagram was intended for. The videos can be awkward and I much prefer just an image post, as I feel while people are quickly scrolling through to look at images on their phones they may be less likely to stop and watch a video.

3. How did you distribute (the photo or video) you published on Instagram to
other social media services?
I distributed this post to my very few followers, with the caption of the location, and the hashtags present throughout my other content. This video gained me a few more followers interested in doors. If I wanted I could also distribute this video through other networking sites connected to Instagram, or send a link to friends or those interested to check out the account.

I like that Instagram still allows you to view accounts (that aren’t on private settings) even when you don’t have an account of your own.
