Screenwriting | Initiative

This week, I started to watch the YouTube channel ‘Lessons from the screenplay’ and fell in love with the breakdown of one of my favourite movies, Wes Anderson’s Moonrise Kingdom, 2012.

While ashamed to admit it, I have actually never read a screenplay (plays yes, but not one for that of a film), and to see two different styles, for example, Wes Anderson and Roman Coppola’s Moonrise Kingdom compared to Gillian Flynn’s Gone Girl, I developed a newfound and real appreciation for the different approaches to screenwriting and the way they are able, depending on the writer and their own unique style, to so vividly paint the image of how this screenplay will be transformed and displayed on film.
