2016: New Goals, Older Me

Feeling the iron-hot pressure of taking up internships more than ever but at the same time feeling most confident that it’s going to be okay. I’d mentioned a few times in this blog (and a million times IRL at uni) that a big reason for my choice of studying Media is my goal of one day being involved in the Eurovision Song Contest as press or in production and in this last year, like a miracle to me, some progress has been made: I’ve been accepted as a contributor on Wiwibloggs: my favourite / the most-read, independent Eurovision blog of our time! This time last year I was still counting wiwibloggs following me on Twitter as an achievement

Now my goals are more specifically to: #1 Contribute and get as involved as possible with the Eurovision blog (surpass my current single lonely post and mere scores as part of large juries and actually find my place amongst all the other lovely well-written contributors), #2 Get published as much as possible in general and learn more about writing for money / journalistic practice, #3 Gain some skills or at least have some laughs learning about radio production. Ideally spending time on these goals will build up the material I need for the 80 hours work attachment (supervised by media professional) and the essay about it needed to graduate!

Other goals: #4 Get involved with the Greek Community Board as much as possible, #5 Start Greek folk dancing again, #6 Attempt to learn the bouzouki, #7 Get debt free, #8 Find paid work that isn’t loathsome (or at least more tolerable than current jobs) #9 Learn more Spanish, #10 Attend and help out with more film festivals, #11 Gather clearer ideas of things I’d like to do and places to be in 2017!
