blog #69: take a little time to enjoy the view

Finally, after a year of focusing on film and being behind a camera, it was time for year 2 of university to start with a huge focus on radio – the pathway I would love to follow upon leaving school and graduating. Radio has been a huge passion of mine for as long as I can remember and I’m so thrilled that my studio, Room With a View, will give me first hand experience being inside the DJ booth and premiering our very own radio show! Next week the class will be heading to 3RRR to check out the studios and meet the people in charge which should be an excellent and super informative day. Both Bruce and Sam were extremely welcoming into the studio and taught us all so much even within the opening hours of our class. With Bruce’s long experience in the radio industry, and Sam’s very hands-on approach to teaching, I’m sure I’ll get a lot out of this course and sincerely hope to carry on with filling in with 3RRR for their Room With a View program once this semester ends. Although 3RRR isn’t my niche or a radio station I am overly familiar with, I am still really keen to learn something new as well as dealing with music and topics I would usually be disinterested in. This course will open up my eyes and mind to a world of new opportunities and lessons and I can’t wait to get involved and see what radio is all about!
