Her Trailer: Spike Jonze toys with Joaquin Phoenix’s emotions with lady A.I.

I’d heard this film was coming but I couldn’t picture what it would look like. This looks fantastic.

Phoenix plays a man who looks to have once been married, and now is becoming attracted to his A.I. in his apartment (voiced by Scarlett Johannson). Supporting cast includes Rooney Mara, Olivia Wilde and Phoenix’s The Master co-star Amy Adams. You get a heavy Jonze feel to the film from the trailer, like his previous efforts Being John Malkovich and Adaptation, but this isn’t written by Charlie Kaufman, but Jonze himself. I’m really interested how this will fare. This looks to be Phoenix’s first film off the back of his oscar nom for The Master, and he looks to be playing a similarly disturbed character to Freddie Quell.
