one order of fries please

Since I’m on a health kick, the “takeaway” idea discussed in the week2 lecture had my mouth salivating at the thought of some salty Maccas fries.

Being a fairly open minded, philosophical being, the discussion of breaking down societal driven categorisation and structure had my mind salivating to. I have already noted the free formed style of online media, where anyone can become an author, publisher and creative blog genius. Is it possible that the wonderful world wide web has put an end to the unquestioned requirement for a creation to obtain a narrative structure?

Beginnings, Middles and Ends. Everything has them. Movies, books, Tv shows, a day, a lifetime. Breaking out of this standardised idea of a narrative had my brain in a mess.

However, The internet breaks free from this cycle. When we read a book we must begin at the start to understand the meaning that we inevitably find at the end. But on the net, we can pick up and start reading at any point, at anytime and still find some meaning. Its infinite.

As discussed in our philosophically driven tutorial, the internet isn’t a direct comparison to a book- rather a library. We can jump from Section to section, book to book, page to page within one browsing session. Whats keeps this library going? Not grumpy librarians! It’s the interconnectivity created through hashtags, linking and sharing.

So, why do we have to limit ourselves and so to our narratives?

Start a search for healthy food recipes and end up with dancing cats. If it makes sense to you, then it becomes part of your narrative.

May we live long and prosper within the infinite galaxy of the blogsphere.
