Interview: RÜFÜS

If you’ve tuned into triple j some time this year there’s a pretty big chance you’ve heard the blissful indie electronica of Rüfüs. After attracting some serious online buzz since dropping their debut EP in 2011, the rising Sydney trio are finally bursting out of their bubble. This Friday marks the release of their long-awaited debut record Atlas (which was triple j’s feature album last week) and they were recently announced on the lineups for Big Day Out and Listen Out. Clearly, Rüfüs are on the cusp of something big.

The other day I interviewed the band for my first feature on Acclaim Magazine. Chatting with lead singer Jon George, the chilled out frontman told me about his favourite DJs, the phenomenon of blog hype and the experience of recording in a hollowed out water tank.
