We are the web

Michael Wesch’s video:

is a really interesting take on the web and its origins and how the web, hypertext and digital text has evolved.

Interesting ideas I took from it were:

Each time we forge a link we teach it an idea

‘It’ being the machine/device. It’s a fascinating concept; the growth of digital text. It is all interdependent on the transmission of information. Everytime someone links on something, it adds a link to the World Wide Web.

Digital text/hypertext/the web is no longer just linking information. The Web is linking people.

It is a relationship- users provide the web with continual information. For example, blog posts, facts, articles, news and even just clicking and linking things. In turn, the web provides users with connection, interaction, accessibility; making this big wide world a smaller place.
