Entangled stories: delving into multimodal truth-telling

Over the course of this semester, the Entangling Media studio’s exploration of the potential of multimodal storytelling has culminated in this final series of exhibits. Each group collaborated to apply what they learned of the advantages and hallmarks of multimodal non-fiction to create a unique story conceived of and executed by them.

Ranging from the humiliatingly real to the dauntingly digital, these stories glimpse under the skin and into the mind through a range of videos, interviews, animations, audio excerpts, illustrations, and more. Some of these projects look to the past to predict the future, while others attempt to unravel secrets of what make us tick.

What all these exhibits contain, is a heartfelt desire to tell true, human stories through creative use of multimodal storytelling. They hope to surprise, inform, remind and encourage those who watch, whilst walking the line of entertainment and education.
