Take Your Meds

A short film about an argument between a couple. Alex (Anthony Pontonio) needs to take his medication, but Beth (Isabella Giaquinta) isn’t so sure.

 

A black comedy with a bittersweet edge, “Take Your Meds” was an attempt to create an interesting and engaging narrative based entirely inside a single apartment. I also had a few ideas to add different surreal aspects to the story, but unfortunately, most of that side of the film fell through. several shots I planned and shot simply took too long and killed the pacing of the film, or would have taken far too long to set up and film, and in the end, I decided to cut down on everything to deliver a shorter, cleaner narrative. In future, I’ll put a little more thought into the pacing and overall feel of my films while planning to avoid wasting time and effort on shots that won’t pan out.
