This article explains to us how sound shapes a movie. There are two categories for sound – diegetic and non-diegetic. It explains to us the use of different use of sounds in films and highlights the importance of absence of sound. It explains the use of sound effects and voice-over. How different genres use sound in different way is also mentioned. Lastly it mentions of how the distinctive voice of actors play a role in shaping the film as well.
