  1. Continuity editing is contributed to classical narrative film, which makes the story be narrated and coherent. Mapping the actions in undistracting way, so that spectators are able to encode the message in a clear way. In addition, Valerie mainly talks about the continuity editing in Hollywood. As he mentioned there are some differences of continuity editing in different countries’ cinema. Comparing with western film, the Japanese film does not so much consider the 180-degree demarcation line in space. However, in classical Hollywood cinema, director want to tell the story coherently, they do not want any disruption or distraction, so the spatial continuity and temporal continuity both used in a common way, such as 180 degree line, eye- line matches and matches on action.
