  1. Nowadays, continuity editing is the most dominant style of editing method. It originated in 1930’s and ‘40s,which is synonymous with the Hollywood Style of filmmaking. When filmmakers want to construct a film with the continuity style they have to consider a series of “rules”. These “rules” suggest how a scene should be staged, filmed, and edited so that the audience is capable for understanding the scene as easy as possible. To be more specific, the continuity style of filmmaking is depended on a system of camera placement and editing guidelines -180° System. And, the 180° System is depended on the idea of an “axis-of-action”. “axis-of-action”is a clearly recognizable line in the 3D space of the scene down which all action, character movement, and dialogue occurs.
