The author states in the chapter that the combination of spatial and temporal elements there will be four different motion possibilities generated since movement has two major categories – either being at the present or not at the present. The relationship between time and space within a shot is fully elaborated by the author and it can thus achieve a variety of different effects accordingly. Through the combination of different shots styles, it can realize multiple visual conceptualizations. The author also points out that the dimension of the film can be greatly added if several other elements can vary, such as the change of the focus.
