Music video production is a form of media that I am not very familiar with and I chose this unit to work on a project that is different from my usual style. Typically, I create non-fiction, documentary-style media works. Hopefully, music video production will allow me to explore creative and artistic style videos that are perhaps more fictional and narrative-based. I enjoy music, watching live music and music videos as I appreciate the combination of sound, words and visual, so I feel enthusiastic about this topic. I am keen to learn something new and different but also something that I enjoy.  

In terms of what I want to achieve, although I enjoy music videos, I don’t have much knowledge of the industry or popular producers, so I am looking forward to learning more about those aspects. I like the idea of working on a bigger scale project involving various people such as producers and musicians, to create a substantial and professional video piece. I have some experience from previous studies and work with PR and marketing, which I think could complement music video production, as they are also marketing tools. A music video would be a valuable piece of work for my portfolio as it may help to show a variety of skills alongside my more non-fiction style works. I look forward to being more experimental and conceptual with this topic.
