After hearing the brief of the studios in the studio ballot, I choose the Mechanics of Immersion as my first choice. I am really interested in filming and editing by the adobe softwares, thus I want to do more exercise and get improvement. This is why I want to be in this studio. I have several goals of this semester. The first one is to grow my technical skills, which includes learning further of the adobe softwares such as Premiere and Audition. I have learned the base use of those softwares but I still not familiar with it; and I haven’t use a lot of functions within them. So I want to learn more about them and aim to use them adeptly. The other goal is to improve my teamwork skills. Although I have worked within group before, I still lack of communication skills with group mates. I hope I can get better at collaboration. To achieve my goals, I need to work hard this semester, practice as mush as I can and work positively in groups.
Usually, I like watching movies and TV shows in my spare time. I am a big fan of a Japanese pop group, so I spend a lot of time on watching their TV shows or music stage. This immerse me and become my original purpose to study media. I’m immersed in the effect and how the staff make the effect after shooting. As a result, I want to do editing as well as filming. One film acted by my favorite pop star is named Assassination Classroom, a Japanese fiction movie recomposed by a science fiction manga series. Although the main character is virtual, the movie is live-action. I am attracted by the visual and sound effect of the movie, which makes me curious about how they compose the effect.
To sum up, making a movie immerse me; I find a lot that I need to learn and improve in this studio, so I will try hard to achieve my goals.
