After having pitched my film and listen to other people pitch their ideas, this week, we chose which film ideas will be made and the core groups we will work in. And in terms of the core group I’ll working in, I’ve chosen to work for Kris’ film idea alongside Rebecca. The story itself is something that I can relate to, but more so than that, I believe that her idea is very doable (and click here to read Kris’ film pitch). It may be simple, but visually, it can be something even greater.

We began pre-production this week, having discussions from our schedule for this project to camera shots and angles we will use. It was also decided that we won’t be needing a script as there will be no dialogue and the film will heavily rely upon atmospheric sounds. We discussed other aspects needed to make this film happen such as the location, actors, permits and equipment. Fortunately, the location and lead actress have already been found and confirmed, and it’s more a matter of having written permits signed. In terms of equipment, we also decided that we will be using DSLRs, with a microphone attached, to film as they are easier to carry, allowing us to easily employ movement and other dynamic shots.
