Week 5 – Initiative post

Before interviewing for my project brief 3, I had done some research for preparation. I found a video by Ryan Spanger on YouTube where he introduced “how to interview someone on camera”. And here are some notes that I marked:

  1. We need to ask right questions at the right way, otherwise the interview will be boring.
  2. Open-ended questions which is the same point came from Louise’s lecture. The interviewees always give the better answer for open-ended questions and also make the interview has a better quality of content.
  3. Ask interviewees to repeat the questions in their answers. It helps us to remove the questions from editing and also makes the audience understand clearly what are they talking about.
  4. Prepare questions before interviewing. We need to do research and gather information. However, we have to be flexible to change the questions by not following everything what we have prepared.
  5. Do not talk to much. We have to keep the questions short or the interviewees and audience may not understand the questions. We also need to give more chance for the interviewee to talk and be respectful to them by not cutting them during the conversation.

After watching this video, I get the better knowledge for interviewing. I am now so excited to prepare my interviewing for my project 3, no matter how the outcome is, it would be a great experience for me.
