World Largest Snake

So I was on Facebook and I found something really interesting to be shared. Titanoboa! It’s the world’s largest and longest snake. Snakes have always been one of humans’ biggest nemesis. From the Garden of Eden to dragon mythology, they’re meant to be destroyed… Or be destroyed. Why are reasons of fear for snakes? Well, according to statistics, one million people are bitten by snakes annually and about 90,000 died. And millions of people were reportedly gripped. This snake, who once roamed the earth 60 million years ago, is about 48 foot long, weighing about 20 man; it’s power of crushing its victim is as strong as 3 Eiffel Tower stacking on top of you. Now… Question is, who the hell opened the chamber of secrets?!

How did it get so big?
According to researches, temperature of the environment determines how big a snake can grow. Reptiles like Titanoboa are cold blooded, and the hotter the temperature, the bigger it gets. To support this evidence, mild climates like in Great Britain, there’s nothing bigger than a 6 foot grass snake. In the centre of the United States, 8 feet are the largest you can find, and in the heap of the amazon basin, there’s the anaconda; about 25 feet long. That’s about the limit in the modern world. Big snakes need really warm environment to maintain themselves.

So… Global warming huh; my advise is you better stop doing what you’re doing to the earth, else Titanoboa will make a comeback!

Here’s a 50 minutes documentary about the snake. Watch it! It’s worth your time! Especially if you love ancient creatures.
