In this project, I am in charge of the equipment we use in the shooting. In the last post I already mentioned we are using LED panels and light torch to make fake lightnings.

Camera wise we will be using Canon 5D mark III and Canon 80D. The 5D is a very good all around camera however it doesnt have a good auto focus system for video shooting, so sometimes its very hard to adjust to focus when we are shooting a moving subject, the 80D is for those particular situations because its a newer camera with a very good auto focus system.

We will also use a big selection of lenses to cover all the needs and prevent any accidents during the shooting. When we are designing the script, we thought about using many close-up shots, and to make it look more abstract, shallow depth of field is very important. So for most of the scenes we will be using 50mm F1.8 lens, but because this lens has a long least focusing distance (the shortest distance you need to keep from the subject in order to focus), we will use a 17-40mm F4 lens and a 100mm F2.8 Macro lens, because they can both focus well even the camera is extremely close to the subject. I also prepared a 135mm F2.8 soft focus lens to shoot from some distance. Because we are shooting in a dark environment, so most of the lenses have a big aperture to help us avoid having too much noise in the video.

In the last project, one of the things I didnt like was the lighting being too hard. We didnt use any reflectors or diffusion so it makes the faces of our actors look quite oily. So this time we are also using reflective boards and diffusion on the LED panels to get a better look.

In this project, we are also trying to show how important it is to accompany and love a child with mental issues, and the importance of medical treatment. Because in our film, the pressure she had was one of the elements that caused her to kill her parents. She felt like being kicked out of the house, she felt alone and scared and it caused her alternate personality to come out. By using some horror elements in the film we are also getting peoples attention on mental illness.

Comparing to the last project I think I am more prepared and we will definitely avoid more accidents this time.
