So thinking back to week four (seeing as I’m a slacker who has allowed myself to get this far behind) — we were talking about sound.

At the time I was struggling to get good case connections, but I think I’ve found one that represents how even the most mundane of sounds can have meaning.

Mashd N Kutcher are a pair of Australian YouTubers, who have built a subscriber base on their “street collabs” – where they stop random people in the street to get them to produce sounds. These sounds are then taken to sound editing programs where they are constructed to become parts of songs.

I find these videos interesting to highlight how one sound can be totally manipulated using technology and – when paired with other sounds – construct these up-beat dance tracks.
