Home movies
For my final project, I interviewed four people about their experiences with home movies. I wanted to focus on the principles of materiality and memory, and how they influence people’s feelings toward home movies and the format they are filmed on. I showed the people I interviewed the home movies of people they didn’t know to encourage them to think about the materiality and texture of the videos rather than just the people and events in the video, however, some of them were still able to find connections between these videos and their own.
