Ready Camera One – Assignment 4 – Post #5

Week 12

This week, we had our last shoot. This homework is due to the hard work and dedication of everyone, and we can come to this point. From the birth of the idea to the completion and improvement of the script, the producer, director and some students have provided very good opinions. At the same time, the guests and the host The performance is also very beyond expectations, very perfect, with a sense of camera and sense of humor, all of which make our program very successful. In this program, multi-camera shooting has played a very important role. Each camera corresponds to a different guest or host, and with the switching of the background, the program looks very natural on the screen. The viewing experience is also very good.

I think this show would have achieved quite a bit if it had had to stay in production. The form and content of our program are relatively complete and mature, and it has everything needed for comedy. At the same time, because of our theme, the performance of comedy in the program is random and unexpected, which can attract the audience very well. Watching our show also makes each episode of our show unique. In the selection stage, we seem to have some difficulties in selecting guests at the beginning, maybe next time we can recruit and select on the school website or some social platforms.

During this week, my position is the director of studio b, which is the virtual room. I hadn’t been here once before, I didn’t have permission to get in, and finally this week, I got in. All the operating facilities here, including the screen, are the same as in other rooms, but in this studio, what I need is to switch the lens of the guests in the virtual background and tell the camera to adjust the camera position. Compared with directors in other studios, in this studio, I don’t have Director’s Assistants and Vision Switcher by my side, which means that I also need to complete their corresponding responsibilities when the program is in progress . This made me feel a little flustered, sometimes I needed to switch shots while counting down, but fortunately, I have held these two positions before, so I have some understanding of them. I think it’s also very interesting and an unforgettable experience. During the official shooting, sometimes the guests will have some small displacements. Due to our virtual background, the camera needs to shoot at the faces of the guests. These small displacements cause the actors to disappear from the camera, which makes me feel uncomfortable. I don’t communicate with the camera often, and ask them to switch angles and lenses, so as to make the whole picture as real as possible.

After this semester of filming and learning, I have really benefited a lot. This studio has taught me a lot about the principles of program production and shooting. This is a valuable experience for my future study and work. I am grateful to everyone in this studio for their hard work and dedication. Because of this, we can perfectly cooperate to complete this task.
