Week 3 Lectori – Editing
Today we discussed that what is editing, editing is not making things together. Sincerely, it means breaking things. We also talked about The Kuleshov effect which is media editing is not about the present, it more about something before, and it can relate to now to the things we see now. And then, we comparing two videos, the first one didn’t have sound and editing, the second one has all the first one has missed. The result is more. Clearly, the second one is more interesting. I saw the power of editing and related to that; I think how interesting that editing can change the meaning of a video.
After that, we did a little game. Giving us 30 sides paragraphs, and we need to re-create them together, to giving them new meaning. I enjoy the freedom that gives us to create new works. But on the other hand, as I am an international student, it is quite difficult for me to understand it and re-create it. Anyway, I still enjoy that editing changes our ways to see things. Through the different way, it can create different emotions.
