No Access Permission

The interesting thing for me is to find friends’ “hidden” blog. Blog is a social platform to share feeling with others, sometimes with hidden content only can be seen by specific person.

once I really can not understand why people write on the public blog but refuse to open it to the public. if want to keep  inside, why not just write on the paper or using some other more private ways.

As a bloger, when I noticed someone updated their blog and catch a gaze of brief beginning,  I would love to click it and watch the whole article. however, it needs access permission.

Japanese Manga

A form of creativity that very popular in Asian countries and is inescapable within Japanese culture: comics, or manga. The Japanese are fanatics about comics. They are everywhere in Japanese society, at every magazine stand, carried by a large proportion of commuters on Japan’s extraordinary system of public transportation.

For the Japanese, manga cover every aspect of social life. According to official data, in Japan, some 40 percent of publications are comics, and 30 percent of publication revenue derives from comics. An American author describes manga are ‘men in tights’ and give some reasons why that is an unattractive characteristic of American. Anyway, people from different culture distract themselves in different ways. There is the phenomenon of doujinshi.

Doujinshi are also comics, but they are a kind of copyright comic. It is not doujinshi if it is just a copy; the artist must add something new on the works he copies, by transforming it either subtly or significantly. A doujinshi comic can thus take a mainstream comic and develop it differently —— with a different storyline. These copycat comics are not a tiny part of the manga market. They are huge. The comic can keep the character in character list but change its look slightly.  These manga artists‘borrowed’ idea from the original comics, mixed their creativity, and retold them in a way with personally style that people recognize. But there is one problem that whether the culture is free. Regulation in copyright law became stricter as people become more private. Now, Public domain age is redefined, which leads artists’ creative ideas become restrained if there is less chance of culture bump.

Japanese manga not only popular in domestic but also attract worldwide teenagers eyes. Digi mon and pokey Mon are accompanied with my childhood. They are very popular in China. The Comic side industries also makes a lot of money, for example, computer games, key rings, and stickers.

people still love Japanese manga when they grew up with high loyalty.  Detective Conan has been published nearly 15 years. I love it when I was a primary student and until to now I still crazy about it.  However,  for Chinese comics , the target audience age is limited. The reason is may because Japanese manga is more relevant to issues happening  in our daily life,  like friendship and dream.

Remix Culture, Mulan

The saying “we live in a remix culture” has become more and more recognized and legitimate. A remix culture is a process that gives people permission to edit, rearrange, and integrate existing materials to create a new piece of work. Amongst “the age of remix”, it is very common that people to exchange information and ideas efficiently by using digital technologies, which offers a fundamental condition for the rise of remixing. Resultantly, it is more accessible for everyone to share different views to a certain same event.  Remixing is acknowledged as a desirable concept as someone believe that remixing means being able to ‘borrow’ great elements from other mass sources and combine them into one work that something entirely fresh, better than the old.

The term ‘Remix Culture’ may have only come about in the recent decade. However, the theory of remixing seems to have been realized a long time ago. Henry Ford, the founder of the Ford Motor Company, once said “I invented nothing new. I simply assembled the discoveries of other men behind whom were centuries of work…Progress happens when all the factors that make for it are ready and then it is inevitable.” Disney Company took Grimm fairy tales and retold them in a way that carried them into a new age with Disney style people recognized.

Hua Mulan is a brave Chinese heroine who dresses up like a solider and goes to war in place of her crippled father,  rising death and dishonor. Film, Mula

n, has been produced in 1998 by Disney Company. Mulan’s story, from the ancient Chinese poem

mulan-wallpaper-mulan-2471043-1024-768

the Balled of Mulan, was re-edited by Mark Henn. Obviously, Mulan is a unique Disney heroine, different from other beautiful princess Disney produced before. Meanwhile, this character has been given some western values in her personality, such as strong, independent, obviously not a traditional Chinese feminine image.

she is loosely based on the heroine from the ancient Chinese epic poem” the Legend of Hua Mulan” and she is the only Disney Princess who is not royal by blood or marriage and is literally not one. However, she has the honor of a princess because she achieved honor from the emperor himself by saving China. During her stay in the army, she falls in love with the Captain, Li Shang, whom she starts dating by the end of the film.

Mulan is one of my favorite characters in the old Chinese tales. Her brave is very different from other Chinese traditional Female characters. Mulan

Henry Ford and Walt Disney both were example of success accomplished by adopting remixing. Also, according to their story, virtually all the brilliant ideas are second hand only sometimes, it takes generation to make an obvious massive leap forward. Nevertheless, the movement of reviewing prevailing principles and designs to make improvements and produce something better is perpetual. Therefore, remixing can be described as a channel through which progression happens.

gender, economic, global relationship

when I prepared this week’s presentation, I found it was a really interesting topic and was worthing spending time on it. Although we only have 5 minutes for each but I still digs lot about why Thailand has high tolerance in the third gender.

what I mentioned before is because of Buddhism, but now I found is more about the government supportive. kathoey show has become an attraction in Thailand, bringing lots of economic benefit for the government and incurring the number of tourists.

When government recognized the benefit, they support it. Meanwhile,  high tolerance could be a kind of tool to negotiate with the Western because in western country, gender freedom is more open then traditional Asian countries.  supporting the third gender could narrow the distance between individual and global.

Singapore pinkdot

Support the freedom of love. It is the slogan of pinkdot, which is a famous event in Singapore supporting LGBT love. I have seen the advertising on youtube and feel moving. Recognizing the gender is a ‘becoming process’. It is unstable. No matter what kind of love, all should be respected. The advertising shows how hard for gay people to come out, facing with their family, friends, especially in Asian country where family value is above then personal need. What makes me impression in advertising is that a girl who is a lesbian writes a letter to their parents, inviting them to join pinkdot event. Pink_Dot_logo

Lego stop motion

There is a link that lego stop motion I made https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R6l8R_Hcr_4.

Stop motion, also known as stop frame, is an animation technique to make physically object appear to move on its own.

lego screen grab

Firstly, I wrote a story outline.  I need to have an idea of what I want to do. It is a hero story. Speaking why I choose this topic because I admire those people who brave to fight for free. The last world at the ending of Brave heart is Freedom. After having a main storyline, I started to prepare technical stuff- two cameras, tropicals and a computer. 13 motions in one second. And also got the object( the main character) I want to work with.

The most important for me was to find a place to shoot that has plenty of space and light. It takes time but worth because a good shooting place is the very basic element for a successful production.

light is essential as well, but avoid using sunlight. Please!!!! because sunlight is always changing as the sun moves, and so it will change while creating shot. It takes several hours to create a scene that only lasts a few seconds on screen. In those few seconds the sunlight will change dramatically. So plan on using lamps.

The difficult thing need to fix is sound recording. I can not record a clear main sound without background noisy without professional recorder. It may affect quality of the production, noisy makes me feel uncomfortable.

I really enjoy doing this video. So I decided to know something about stop motion. Start with the history, it has a long history in film and often used to show object moving as if by magic. The first instance of the stop motion technique can be used in ‘The Humpty Dumpty Circus(1897)stop motion

Iphone tracks wherever you go— online information leakage

what is the difference between Journal and Blog in spite of they have the same sorts of benefits allow???

Compared with Journal, Blog could be a public documentthe. Anyone could read others blog as long as under internet service covered. It is narrow the physical disstance among the oublic.

just clicking, after one second, the artical we posted in our blog can spread all world.

on the one hand, it narrows the distance among the world. On the other hand, personal information leakage is in a high risk. Hacker or any one who has some professional skills can attack personal computer and stole Blog or other platforms passwords to use personal information getting money, like resident address, education background, even netbank account.

how can we protect our information from leakage in this high tech age has been debatable.Iphone frequent locations

Apple company can track Iphone users’ location through a softwire installed in Iphone, which has arise the public unstasfied. however, Apple company claimed this app is for protecting  Iphone users personal security in case lost by accidently. However, an information technology professior said Apple company can use those location data to analyse one’s residential address, working information, age. gender and so on, more than imagination.
Are people tracking where you go by Iphone frequent location!!!!!!

1.2 Blog & Weibo

Blogs was populer in China a few years before. I remember the rise of blog was related a famous atress in China because she ofter posted her  feelings and her fans follow. Then, the public gradually notice the power of blog. The content posted on blog spread fast.

Blog makes anyone could be a publisher and let other viewer follow. It was new thing in China because china has a very serious censorship in speeking ten years ago. Blog offered a new way for the public to get useful information.

But in recent years, people prefer using Weibo instead of Blog in China. what is the difference between Blog and Weibo. Both of them have the same sorts of benefits allow.

Blog is not only can be using as class education tool, but also has influence in our daily life. Yao chen, who has more follower on social media than anyone else in China- or, notably, anyone else on the

planet, set that line out to her therity-one million fans on Weibo, the microblogging site, as a show of support Sichun earthquake in 2008,  and got more donation by through blog spreading.

All in all, writing a  blog and checking comments have become a habits for the most people, the first thing to do after opening eyes on every morning.

Reading Reflection

Adrian in “Blogs in Media Education: A Begining” says blog plays an important role in media education because it may relavent to professional practise as a teacher or as a classroom tool. She has used blogs on a subject by subject basis with university students since 2002. After then, the use of blog has emphasised and explored what is ‘peculiar’ to blog. It breaks the boundrey of writing, also makes contribution to teaching and learning.

Adrian also gives an introduction to blog. ” what is a blog” I have the same question. A blog is a web based publication. it is traditionally consists of entries of verying length that are published in reverse chronological order so that the most recent entry appears first. Blog is a kind of online diary, writing daily experience down and sharing to others. All posts are automatically archived by date, and it is also common to apply categories to individual entries. It is easy to find the artical which you are looking for by searching the key word. Blogs, like journals, allow a record to be maintained of ideas, reflections, activities, things to be done, and so on.

High technology makes people’s life more convinent. Most blogs also support optional comments, where readers can leave notes attached to individual posts.

Content Mangement System(CMS) lets a blogger become a publisher. The article I posted could be viewed by people all over the world as long as under internet covered. Although we may don’t know each other, blog indeed narrow the physical disstance, getting individual into different groups depends on interest, country, religion and so on, and then community becomes.

Arian presents there are a host of reasins why blogs maybe useful in teaching. therefore it takes time to learn how to blog.

As a media students, it is need to develop a range of literacies around internet and digital technologies.
