Development blog post #5: post-production

We didn’t finish the shoot because we were a little slow, but we’ll get it done this week. As the homework was completed bit by bit, we also encountered many difficulties. For example, constantly revising the script, adding shooting scenes, use of props, and setting of scenes. Although I thought about it when writing the script, when it came to filming, I found that the location was not ideal. It was even discovered that there were not enough shots in the picture and additional shots were needed. I think the script needs to be written more carefully and add more details to the picture.

Through this week’s reading, I realized the purpose of true crime dramas. It is to better show the social problems that occur in real life to the society, and at the same time continuously improve people’s awareness of self-prevention and vigilance against criminals. Audiences will always be fascinated by true crimes rather than afraid of them, because true crimes are always controlled in entertainment and news, keeping the audience in a safe and protected state. As media producers, we need to keep raising certain social issues with the audience while maintaining a safe distance between the film and the audience.
