Task 4 – Week 9

In Week 8, we simply say what we have to do in the last project, with a special foundation idea. So this week in our class, we began to list the final project on the plan, but we couldn’t say that there was a particularly clear structure. In order to make the plan clearer, we all listed the BIGGEST THINGS, BIG THINGS & SMALL THINGS about the final project.

BIGGEST THING – What do I want to know through doing task four?
BIG THINGS – What do I need to do to know what I want to know?
SMALL THINGS – How can I break these things I need to do into doable tasks?

For me, the hardest thing to do is BIGGEST THINGS and BIG THINGS, because I still can’t determine what I want to know through the final project, and I don’t know what I’m going to do to know what I want to know. I’m only listed at the end of Task3 What I am interested in is the combination of sound in daily life. I’ll put this into BIGGEST THINGS for the time being. Then I thought why I was interested in the combination of the sounds in my daily life, because I found the importance of sound in the three readings of Frankham, Panse and Ivens. It can more reflect the theme and emotion of a video or movie, and also can let the audience produce more different views on the video. Task 3 I combined different video clips, so the combination of sounds is definitely interesting.

Hannah showed a form of interest in her class on Wednesday: sound collage, which just fits my thoughts. This should be the content of my BIGGEST THINGS:

The first, Whether the combination of sounds in daily life can reflect different feelings. Second, whether listening to the audio alone can make us notice the usual attention.

Then BIG THINGS is:

1、The combination of sound in daily life

2、Changing the arrangement of some audio combinations, try to make different people have different themes and emotions

SMALL THINGS is relatively simple, and I list a few things that need to be done

1、Recording equipment(Zoom H2N)

2、Recording sounds from different objects

3、Do the experiment, try to combine different sounds together

4、Let other people listen to the effect

After that, Hannah asked us to make a timeline for the points in the SMALL THINGS to clearly show what we need to accomplish in the next four weeks. Of course, in my opinion, I am a person who cannot finish the task in accordance with the original timetable, because I think there will be something different from what I thought,so the plan will certainly change, but the magnitude of the change will not be too great. So, the schedule will still be helpful to me, and I will upload what I do every week so that I will not let myself forget something. This can also make a comparison with the original schedule, after all, the plan and timetable are still rough, incomplete.
