I used to live that way, focusing on my own staff and caring less about my surroundings. I seldom make many thoughts of the other aspects of my life although this world is beautiful and there are so much amazing things waiting for people to discover.and I probably would stay that way if I did not read the article in this week and make reflections on my own.
The author taught me how to feel. His words weaved into a beautiful language and it encouraged me to see me, things around me and to see the connection between me and others (including people and objects). The author taught me about the method of noticing and how to make observations.
The key point of our group is the “Essence of Noticing” from page 31 to 33. After reading the article, I am interested in the responses children and adults would give toward different kinds of gestures, postures and speeches. And I have discovered that sometimes, the gestures and postures could carry the contradict meaning of the contents and thus the message would not be the same. According to my understanding, this might be because the adults are having too many thoughts and so their body language does not fit the constantly changing minds; as for the children, since they have comparatively weaker ability of expression, they will focus more on their body languages.
Based on my noticing, I also notice my own comprehension and thinking of the question that if my noticing has been influenced by my own experiences and then find out that everyone has their own understanding toward things depending on their personal life experiences. Nevertheless, people become wiser and more knowledgeable through observation and reflection.
