My role in this assignment is vision switcher, this is the first time i did a role in the control room which i haven’t done in my previous project.
What a vision mixer do is to follow directors lead to control and select different video sources to program and therefore goes on air. It is a less complex role because we do have a limit number of cameras. However, it is my first time doing this job i was quite nervous even after we finish filming. I have talked to director about the way how call out the number so i would know when should i put on preview or program and when i cut the shots. I found it easier put all fingers on all the button i need, but the downside is when i getting nervous or the shots changes faster the risk of me pressing the wrong button, but i think if i get a another chance i would be less nervous and process information faster.
Our group work quite collaterally during preparation period, we settle most of the roles pretty quickly and we start brainstorming ideas right away, and we created a Facebook group chat for any updates or changes on the scripts or question and the props, and we also have a shared google drive folder include the quizzes and opening and closing dialogues for the host that our writer wrote which we can all review and changed if necessary.

We choose the squeeze toys as the buzzer for our contestants, compare using normal buzzers like bells these toys are more fun and the can draw audiences intention as well.
I think our group did a pleasant job on this project, we do experienced quite a lot technical difficulty during set up and we have to delay the start time. As a team we did a good job on report things immediately if there is a problem so we can resolved it as soon as possible and didn’t delay too much time. One of the obstacle we meet is one of the camera can not zoom in so this camera has to stay at the same position throughout. What director decided is let the contestant still have their close up shot and at the same time the zoom out shot included the host, so we do have variety of shots. We have some struggles with the music before the show cause we are not sure should the music play through the computer on the floor the audio panel in control room. I think this is one of the aspect that we should consider more in detail during our pre – production phase.
