Before we started shooting, my groupmates and I had a brief meeting about the things that we need to do and did some clarification about the story plot for this speculative fiction media work. We changed our actors and characters because before we had 2 brothers but now we have a brother and sister. We decided that the setting of our film won’t have a futuristic look except for the fake gun that we’re using as a prop. We had Edward (a cop) wear an all-white costume instead of black and Nate (the alien) to wear an all-black costume. For the locations, we filmed at Carlton Gardens, a few alleyways that were close to it and at RMIT City Campus, and lastly, the rooftop cafe in building 94. In addition, we decided to have blue colored blood (using honey, cornstarch, and a blue food coloring) when Nate was injured to show that she was different. We add a few posters at the alleyway scenes that showed “Exterminate Ultas” to add more emphasis on what’s happening in the film.
