LOGLINE:

Every 5 years, a selected group of travelers from different countries come to visit a poverty-stricken remote area in the Philippines to help out the community by adopting children and teenagers. The local citizens are very thankful for the organization called “The Givers” because the youth are given a chance to have a lot of benefits such as good health and life, or so they thought.

It’s hard to conjure ideas for this week’s media sketch but after remembering a real-life shocking event (children and teenagers were abducted and were left dead with their organs missing) that happened back in my home country, I managed to create a story using that as my main concept. I didn’t include the main idea of my story in the logline because I want to give suspense to the readers/viewers. I want to create a dystopian story that shows to the viewers not all people have good intentions, some have ulterior motives. ‘Wolf in sheep’s clothing’. Writing the logline gave me more ideas on the flow of how I want my story to progress. The only thing that’s keeping me from writing the whole story is how I will handle the main idea of the story.

Overall, writing a logline is very challenging for me because I personally like to spoil the key concept of the story to other people.
