“We envision the storytelling space as a temporary community of participants and researchers working together to generate alternative possibilities for living”
(Rice, Chandler & Changfoot 2016)

In the article called ‘Making spaces: multimedia storytelling as reflexive, creative praxis: Qualitative Research in Psychology’, the authors discussed and explained how researchers practice a new method [multimedia storytelling] in an art-based research about social science and how they collaborate with the participants to tell a story in a form of a multimedia project. Researchers focused on connecting with the participants in an emotional and personal-political ways to produce a short film based on their [participants] experiences by exploring the four themes of what makes the storytelling unique: reflexivity, structure and creativity, transitional space and reverberation, and fixing versus being/becoming with. With this project, researchers and participants conduct dialogue workshops about their experiences (biomythographies, combining myth, history and biography in a narrative form) in a creative research process.

With this reading, my group mates and I want to incorporate the idea of using multimedia storytelling in our project but also making it interactive so that viewers will understand what we want to discuss and have more interaction with the project.

From our previous group work, my group mates and I decided to change our concept and to make an interactive fiction project that represents a mental illness called Dissociative Identity Disorder or known as DID. We want to raise awareness to this type of disorder as it always been overlooked by many people and is usually mistaken to be a different disorder. Also, we want to show the common experiences that a person [who has DID] encounters by presenting this project with a positive outlook on screen. Although we won’t be working with a participant, we want to connect with our audience through this project and we are doing an in-depth research as we know how sensitive the topic is. I hope we achieve our aim by doing this project.
