Alone in the City

This hybrid photo-film follows a sleepless photographer as he walks around the city, taking photos of other lonely wanderers. His photos are colourful, yet he struggles with loneliness, refuses to connect with others, therefore, he’s trapped in his own monochrome world.

A mixture of street photography (candid) and street portraits (non-candid) were taken during the making of this project. The main obstacle was to edit the video in a way that shows the connection between the photographer and his subjects. The story was also constantly changing throughout the production due to changing perspectives and improvisations during the actual photo-shooting.
