Permanence

By Edward Lee Hang, Liang Kaitong, and Callum Hofler

Permanence is a meditative, experimental work, predominantly built around an originally composed poem by group member Edward. It’s a reflective musing on the value of place; a pertinent concept, given that the place that a number of our group members currently reside in (metropolitan Melbourne) has been so uniquely disrupted this year.

Using footage captured by our three group members from our individual, disparate locations, Permanence is a abstract montage of sorts, the visuals used as a compliment to the thematic postulations that Edward’s poem, spoken aloud in the film, addresses.
