For screen project two, we were initially planning on working together again and expanding on Ramsay’s idea for screen project one and using a lot of symbolism.

However, we realized that we were looking for a different result to each other, so agreed to crew on each other’s projects but to go our separate ways.

I’m eager to look at something about the loss of innocence, and using symbols to portray this. I like the idea of having a kid who has seen bad things (and is growing up in Witness Protection) – and doesn’t see the world like her peers. So she might see a toy, and to her, it is smeared with blood and/or she has flashbacks to one of her toys being smeared with blood and her parents arguing in the background.

This does have the complication of using a large amount of children, though, which is my main issue, as the working hours will be restricted and though I have a working with childrens check, do not think I will be able to look after twenty kids while I’m trying to coordinate shooting.

Witness Protection

Can be used in domestic violence situations if the person is in severe danger. There have been cases of children in WitSec while one parent is escaping the other – abusive – one.

It’s no place for a child to grow up in, though, as people in WitSec are constantly moved to keep them safe, so children will be moved from school to school to school. Also, they cannot invite people over without permission from the police, so maintaining any social relationship would be near impossible.

People in WitSec must also abide by a strict curfew, breaking this will mean they have to move again.

And they will have fake names at all addresses.

So my screenplay idea could follow a young girl who is growing up in WitSec and at each school, pretends to be someone different.
