I was unable to attend week 10’s workshop, and was a little disappointed that I couldn’t listen to the My Lobotomy piece that others had described. I feel like it would’ve been beneficial to hear something of the sort, because I haven’t really been sure of what direction our project is going to take.
Our group knows that we don’t want to simply read out our audio piece as an essay, because apparently others have done this and missed the creative mark completely. I think if we are working with a program like Audition and with the subject of Attention, then we have a range of different possibilities as to what sounds we can use.
From what others seemed to say, the piece they listened to was effective in creating a certain feeling within everyone. I think that this is really powerful of the audio, especially when you don’t have the visual aspect to help you get a mood or feeling across to your audience. This has made me think about what type of feeling my group may want our project to have.
