This week, I have seen a documentary that showed a Chinese village has a big change and become a city. It is talking about a social problem–urbanization. Some people think urbanization is good for them. They will have many opportunities to earn more money. However, some people do not like urbanization. They do not think they can adapt themselves to the new environment.

Along with the global economy, China have an opportunity to develop economy. Nowadays, some cities have been became modernization. However, the city have limited land to develop. So there is   a problem that how to develop city better. Developing urbanization play an important role in modernization. This documentary shows this social problem, not only express the advantages, but also tell people that urbanization is a two-edged sword. 

I believe this documentary is truth. Because urbanization is a trend. The city is the center of economic, political and social life. The degree of urbanization play an important role in a country’s economic, social, cultural, scientific and  technological level. However, everything has two sides. Urbanization will bring a lot of differences and conflicts. On the one hand, some people can not suit the urbanization, on the other hand, some people think that it is an opportunity to earn more money. For government, the Chinese-style urbanization both have opportunity and challenge. 

It is a good example for documentary, it give me some ideas too. I want to make a documentary(in week 1), the topic is ‘Overseas students’ lives’. I think it is a social topic and have some common point with this documentary.
