After sending my first draft to Darrin, He suggested that the score was unrelenting and need some more shapes. The score should be there to provide the sense of space and energy to the dancer. It should live the space for dancer/audience to breath. I realized that my approach to tightening physical and structural articulation might not be a right way to do it. He also commented that because of my constant drone sound, it made the piece feel a little bit boring, has our brain won’t pay attention to constant sound. He suggested that I could use any new sonic/visual events as a chance to shape the other elements such as changing pitch, volume, reverb or cut it off.
He sent me an example of how score provides the energy and space. We called this the “Harp Theme”.
I found that using a Low MSI sound to avoid the score to be on the radar is a better way to provide energy and space to the dancer. Therefore, We ended up with this version.
