  • I want to improve on the skill’s in film making
  • With the correct planning and experimenting  (that I will undertake in this course) I want to create an amazing piece.

What you’re interested in

  • Exploring Cats world through film.

What you want to investigate

  • Frames that challenge the viewer to look beyond what’s in front of them
  • How film can portray

In my first semester at RMIT we were required to make a video portrait of someone we found interesting. I chose to do my piece on Cat Poljski.

As it was my first piece, there was very little skill and technique involved.

There was no white balance, it wasn’t properly exposed, or focused and was edited on IMovie. That’s just the beginning of what was done incorrectly in this production.

This is why I think this would be great inspiration, it can allow me to continue development of this idea and eventually execute this production correctly.

I will work toward an end product, that focuses on the frame. Within this specifically:

  • That the shots are thought out before they are executed
  • That the shots are correctly executed – (through white balance , exposure etc.)
  • That they are conceptually and aesthetically pleasing

I aim by the end of this semester to be ready to do a final shoot with Cat.

I will achieve this through the following steps:

  • Numerous brainstorm sessions that work toward a highly motivated sequence of shots that represent Cat as accurately and creative as possible.
  • Various shoot tests that I will plan out specifically to focus and to improve my camera set up. I’ll point out what key elements are lacking most in the original film and choose to focus on those key elements.
  • Creating a thorough Shot list
    • This shot list should be backed up by well thought out
