The point that stood out
I’ll be honest I didn’t read all the readings and really wasn’t taking in much as I have had some other important stuff on this week but one thing that did struck me and got me thinking was the line;
‘Throughout the industrial and post industrial periods, technology has become very ubiquitous that it has been said that we now live in technology, surrounded by technological systems and dependant on them.”
This statement I believe sums up todays society when it comes to technology. When you get up you turn the light on, check your phone, use kitchen utensils and the list goes on! Nearly everything we do today we use some form of technology that then becomes a smaller part of a larger technological system. How would we survive if we didn’t have these simple luxuries? Only if someone could create technology to transport through time to see how lives differ with the inventions of new technologies over time!
